Donations

Your support is essential

In North America, Italy, France and Spain, citizens donate millions annually to private foundations dedicated to childhood cancer research: St. Baldrick Childhood Cancer Charity, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, Kids V Cancer, Imagine Margo, Terry Fox Foundation, Michael Cuccione Childhood Cancer Research Program and Fondazione Telethon are examples.

Frank Schirrmacher has put it in a nutshell:
“What holds society together at its core cannot be organized by the market, nor by the state. It is the things we take for granted that cost a high price now that they are becoming a scarce commodity”

(Minimum – Vom Vergehen und Neuentstehen unserer Gemeinschaft, Munich 2006).

Commitment to children with life-threatening illnesses should be a matter of course.

Foundation or support association?

The association was established to support the foundation. This is achieved firstly through the annual membership fees paid by its members and secondly through fundraising events or other special campaigns organized by the association. This tandem structure follows the example of many well-known German foundations.
In contrast to the foundation, it is possible to become a member of the association. The annual membership fee was deliberately kept low at € 200 per year in order to make membership financially possible for as many interested parties as possible.
Become a member if you want to make a sustainable, medium or long-term commitment and benefit from our diverse and interdisciplinary network.

Your donation makes the difference

At a time when there are many major global problems to be solved, the interests of children with cancer are unfortunately being treated as a secondary consideration in the distribution of scarce funds. For example, funding for a new German Center for Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine planned for 2023 has also been postponed
Society and the state often have to set other priorities, which is why research for children with cancer is dependent on funding from donations from private individuals and charitable organizations. Individuals can also make a significant difference with their donations and attention. Every cent helps and is used conscientiously and purposefully. The affected children and their parents thank you from the bottom of their hearts.
