District Governor Stefan Frey was appointed the new Ad Hoc Ambassador of the Cura Placida – Children’s Cancer Research Foundation in October 2024. The award was presented to him at a charity evening of the Rotarier Club Tutzing under the direction of its president Prof. Dr. Mike Notohamiprodjo.
Cura Placida is the only children’s cancer foundation in the district of Starnberg and is committed to the development of respectful, targeted cancer therapies for children with few side effects.
The foundation is financed exclusively by donations and promotes translational research, which often remains underfunded in the shadow of adult oncology.
In Stefan Frey, the foundation has gained a high-profile supporter who, in his role as District Governor and Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Starnberg Hospital Medical Center, has been a strong advocate of medical issues for many years. As the father of three sons, he also has a personal connection to the foundation’s cause.
Since 2019, the “Cura Placida – Ad Hoc Ambassador” accolade has been awarded to public figures who are committed to the foundation’s cause. The foundation is looking forward to working with Stefan Frey
